Perry Mason was the mystery series based on attorney fiction. It was first premiered on 21st of September 1957 and lasted on 4th of September 1966. It was built upon a novel by Erle Stanley Gardner titled as 'The Case of the Velvet Claws' about a brilliant defense lawyer and two of his teammates, who solve many crime cases in order to confer justice to their innocent client who is taken under trial as a murderer.
This series was first aired on American television, with a total number of 146 TV episodes. Later on it was complied in DVD. The DVD was comprised of 12 seasons with in all 271 episodes written by Stirling Silliphant. The series was again started in 1973-74 with new castings but was not successful and was terminated with just 15 episodes. And then again it was released this time with the original characters in 1985, which continued to run successfully till 1993, when the actor playing character of Perry Mason died. Then onward this new series of Perry Mason was twisted a bit by presenting some visiting attorneys in order to fight the case, while Perry Mason was kept behind the scene and was presented to be conveniently absent. Della and Paul continued to work for visiting attorney. The series was then renamed as A Perry Mason Mystery in order to keep the character alive.
The Perry Mason show is famous worldwide. The Television show was even telecasted in Germany. Prior to release of TV show, Perry Mason Series was broadcasted on Radio, but with the launch of Television series, demand for radio series highly declined and major crowd became TV shows of Perry Mason.
The title character Perry Mason was played by Raymond Burr, as a defense attorney who reveals the real criminal in courtroom in defense of falsely accused people. He was accompanied by a private detective named as Paul Drake, and his beautiful secretary Della Street, whose characters were played by William Hopper and Barbara Hale respectively. This trio investigates the facts deeply and drags out the real criminal into the witness stand.
